GINA JEFFREYS
Guest artist | Carols In The Stadium 2026
Multi award-winning country music trailblazer Gina Jeffreys was the first female artist in Australian country music history to achieve platinum sales and sell-out national tours.
After winning the Toyota Star Maker in 1991, she was hand-picked in 1994 to open for Johnny Cash on his national tour. Chart-topping albums, multiple Golden Guitars and anthems like “Girls’ Night Out” followed. She sang for troops in East Timor alongside Kylie Minogue and John Farnham, and represented Australia on a live New Year’s Eve broadcast from China watched by millions.
In 2003 Gina stepped back to focus on family with her husband, producer Rod McCormack, and their son Jacky, now a producer with more than 10 million streams. She never really left the stage. She writes Top 10 hits for artists including multi award winning Max Jackson and gave early touring breaks to Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Harvey and others.
For 18 years she has run the Gina Jeffreys Academy of Music (GJAM), whose students have topped the charts and won The Voice and Australia’s Got Talent. And every weekday, the Central Coast wakes up to her infectious laugh on STAR 104.5’s Gina & Matty Brekky Show, the #1 breakfast show on the Coast.
In 2026 Gina received the Country Town Legends Award. In typical Gina style, her acceptance speech was all about encouraging the next generation of women to knock down doors for each other.
At heart, Gina will always be a country singer. She’s still playing festivals around the country, with new music on the way.
